INFORMATION & DONATION CONTACTS
Operating Needs
The annual operating budget of St. Olaf Catholic Church enables the
church to fulfill its mission to "serve as a living sign of Christ's saving
presence in the heart of the city." Gifts to the operating budget help the
parish enhance and expand this important mission.
Capital Needs
The existing structure of St. Olaf Catholic Church has stood in the
heart of the city since 1955. Gifts
for capital needs can help ensure that the building is well maintained for years
to come.
St. Olaf Fund for
the Arts
The visual arts are an
integral part of any church setting, and St. Olaf is no exception. Since the
visual arts are made up of a variety of mediums (paintings, icons, sculpture,
photographs, stained glass, etc.), it is incumbent upon us to work to support
and maintain those objects d’art in place as well as acquiring new and
additional works to complement the existing collection. This need is not covered
by the general operating fund.
Cars With Heart
You can now donate your vehicle (car, van, boat, snowmobile, etc.) to
St. Olaf through the Cars With Heart program. The donor receives a tax
deduction for the full appraised value. The church receives the majority of the
proceeds from the sale of the vehicle. For more information, contact the Parish
Administrator at 612-332-7471.
The Sr. Rosanne Fox
Fund for Social Concerns
Every week, gifts from parishioners of food, clothing, furnishings and financial
resources help close the gap between survival and comfort for those who most
need our help. This fund enables the good works of mercy, charity
and justice to continue in perpetuity.
The Dr. Lynn Trapp Fund
for the Arts
Founded with a gift by Dr. Lynn Trapp, St. Olaf Director of Worship
and Music, the Fund for the Arts helps ensure the perpetuation of music
and the arts at St. Olaf.
Deferred Giving
Most of us want to help make the
world a better place. Charitable gifts to the organizations and causes in which
we believe are one way of investing in the promise of a better world.
Through
deferred giving, we can make an investment in the future. The term "planned
giving", or "deferred giving", refers to charitable
gifts that require planning before they are made. Such estate planning
helps to ensure that your assets are properly distributed according to your
wishes. Planned gifts are popular because they can provide valuable tax benefits
and/or income for life. A person of any age and
income can make a deferred gift.
Potential benefits of deferred gifts:
-- increases the current income of the donor or
others
-- reduces the donor's income tax
-- reduces or eliminates capital gains tax
-- passes assets to one's family at a reduced cost
-- makes significant donations to charity
