Throughout
history the papal office has been the focus of many objections and
condemnation. Much of this is due to misconceptions and misinformation about
the papacy – which, in reality, is “pope fiction”. In this book, Patrick Madrid
addresses many of these arguments in a very clear and concise manner. Both
Scripture and the teaching the Catholic Church affirm that the “rock” upon
which Jesus established his church is Peter and his descendants through the
centuries. We can learn how to converse more effectively with others, and at
the same time, come to appreciate the truth of our own Catholic faith with a
deeper conviction.
