featuring Fr. Michael Joncas, “A Place Called Home”

Join us Wednesday, February 19 for 7:00am Mass followed with food for your stomach as well as for your soul and mind as we enjoy the next Session of “The Fr. Patrick Kennedy Initiative on Parish Mission in the Heart of the City.” This breakfast and seminar will run from 7:30am to 8:30 followed with Q&A until 9:00am.

Our speaker will be Fr. Michael Joncas, a priest of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, currently serving as Artist in Residence and Research Fellow in Catholic Studies at the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul.
Nearly five years ago Fr. Michael Joncas wrote the text to “A Place Called Home” and shared it at a benefit concert for those experiencing homelessness. It moved many people deeply (and helped to raise considerable funds!). In his presentation for St. Olaf he will share an analysis of its progress of thought connected to Catholic social teaching and the hymn text, including the call to practice radical hospitality, and the challenge to build a world serving those currently without a place called home.
